The Chamber is committed to fostering a partnership between business and government.
This partnership is achieved through the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee that advocates issues of importance to the business community and provides Chamber member's with access to their elected officials. The Chamber seeks to educate legislators about existing businesses in our 13 town region and the issues important to them. The Chamber represents its membership on the legislative process while encouraging their active participation in the determination of public policy.
Each year, the Chamber develops a legislative agenda. The Chamber ensures that the items on the agenda are addressed by the General Assembly in Hartford. The Chamber's 2010 Legislative Agenda has been published and identifies the Chamber's 5 legislative priorities: economic growth, workforce development, transportation, telecommunications, and statewide business cost issues.
During the legislative session, members have access to Paolino Public Affairs Consulting. Principal firm member, Armando Paolino is at the capitol on a daily basis, representing the needs of business from the Greater Waterbury region.
